YELLOWSTONE - OLD FAITHFUL

6/14: They should call Old Faithful, “Old Fume-ful” judging by the bathroom odors spewed from the countless geysers and dozens of other geological orifices (hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles) covering the surrounding area. Or as Hayley blurted, “P.U. Daddy, stinky smell.” Nonetheless, we muscled through the aromas to arrive at the main attraction (Old Faithful) and she didn’t disappoint. At 1:58 p.m. the eruption began about one minute past the estimated blast time, and lasted the typical three to four minutes. The average height of the water eruption reaches 130 feet and temperatures around 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The 92 minute standard interval between eruptions allowed us time to take in all the other hydrothermal formations in the vicinity.

Before going on to our next adventure, Chef Robin whipped up an RV microwave special for our hungry munchkins before moving onto our next adventure.

That's Sulphur for you. Kind of like the smell of rotten eggs.
